# Spatial Commerce With Intelligence+

<LearningObjectives>

- **Explain** what spatial commerce means in Shopware.
- **Describe** what CAD to 3D and the 3D Preview Generator each do.
- **Separate** Intelligence+ asset tools from Rise presentation tools.

</LearningObjectives>

# Prepare 3D Assets for Your Catalog

Shoppers increasingly want to rotate products and use augmented reality (AR). **Spatial commerce** means presenting products as interactive 3D and AR content instead of flat images only.

Two asset-preparation tools help before you present anything on the storefront:

- **CAD to 3D**
- **3D Preview Generator**

Both are advanced Intelligence tools (they need **Intelligence+** capacity once free limits or service requirements apply). Later in this path, Rise features such as the **Scene Editor** and **3D Viewer** help you *present* 3D on the storefront. This unit is about getting usable files and thumbnails first.

<Callout title="Key terms" type="info">

- **GLB** — compact, web-ready 3D format for browser and AR.
- **CAD file** — engineering/design file that is usually too heavy for the storefront as-is.

</Callout>

## CAD to 3D

If you already have CAD data (common in manufacturing, design, or fashion), convert it in the **Media Manager**: choose convert, select the CAD file, and receive an optimized **GLB**. Conversion runs via **RapidPipeline**.

Manufacturing CAD often has no textures, so the GLB can look plain — it can still help for exploded views, the 3D Viewer, and AR. You get **1 free conversion per month**; further conversions need **Intelligence+**.

## 3D Preview Generator

3D files do not ship with image thumbnails. Without a preview, product media slots can look empty or broken.

The **3D Preview Generator** creates a preview image automatically for every **GLB** you upload to Shopware Media. Shoppers and admins then see that a 3D model is available. This service requires an active **Intelligence+** subscription — book or check status under Shopware Services when you set it up in your own shop.

## Final Thoughts

Convert CAD to GLB and generate previews so media slots stay usable. In the next course, Rise tools such as the Scene Editor and 3D Viewer help you present those models on the storefront.

**How to prove it works:** convert a CAD file to GLB, upload a GLB to a product, and confirm a preview thumbnail appears in the media gallery.
