# Example; V.a. shop settings for Global Gear

Imagine you are working with a company called **Global Gear**, an international ecommerce business specializing in outdoor equipment. They have a diverse setup that includes three distinct sales channels:

1. **Germany & Switzerland (B2C)**: This sales channel serves customers in Germany and Switzerland, offering localized content in German and pricing in both Euros and Swiss Francs.

2. **United States (B2C)**: The US sales channel targets American consumers, with content in English and pricing in US Dollars.

3. **International (B2B)**: The B2B channel covers a global market, offering content in German and English and supporting various currencies depending on the client's location.

Global Gear also integrates Shopware with their ERP system via API to streamline inventory management, order processing, and customer data. Additionally, different business units within Global Gear are responsible for managing specific aspects of these shops, including the marketing, logistics, and IT departments.

Let's walk through the key settings in the Shopware Admin that are crucial for managing this complex setup.

## Key Settings Under Shopware Admin

1. **Shop: Basic Information**

   - **Germany & Switzerland Channel**: Start by configuring the shop name, logos, and basic information for the Germany and Switzerland B2C channel. Since this channel serves customers in both Germany and Switzerland, you’ll need to ensure that the branding resonates with customers in both countries. You’ll also want to set the base URL for this channel, which will be used in all communications and marketing materials.

   - **United States Channel**: For the US channel, set the shop name to reflect the American branding, perhaps using a localized name if it differs from the European markets. Upload a logo that’s optimized for the US market and set the base URL to a .com domain to build trust with American consumers.
     <img src="../../assets/images/us_domain.png" width="400"/>

   - **International B2B Channel**: The B2B channel will require careful branding as well. Since it’s serving a global audience, consider using a neutral or corporate logo and shop name that appeals across multiple regions. This channel’s base URL might be set to a .global or similar domain to indicate its international reach.
More information about configuring sales channels can be found in this article [Sales channels settings](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/settings/saleschannel).

2. **Currencies**

   - **Managing Multiple Currencies**: Global Gear needs to support multiple currencies across its sales channels. In the Germany & Switzerland channel, configure both Euros and Swiss Francs as available currencies. In the US channel, set up US Dollars as the default currency. For the International B2B channel, support multiple currencies like Euros, US Dollars, and British Pounds, depending on the client’s location. This setup allows customers to transact in their local currency, reducing friction at checkout.

Currency configuration is described in more detail in [Currency settings](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/settings/currencies). Also, in this article, [Sales channel domain settings](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/settings/saleschannel#domain), it is described how to add a currency to a domain.

3. **Languages**

   - **Language Configuration**: Each sales channel requires specific language settings. The Germany & Switzerland channel should be configured with German as the primary language. The US channel will only need English, while the International B2B channel must support both German and English. Setting up these languages ensures that content is delivered in the customer’s preferred language, enhancing their shopping experience.
[Sales Channel general settings](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/settings/saleschannel#general-settings) describes how to add languages to a sales channel. The article [Sales Channel domain settings](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/settings/saleschannel#domain) describes how to add languages to a domain.

4. **Countries**

   - **Country Management**: For the Germany & Switzerland channel, restrict sales to these two countries. Ensure that all relevant shipping, tax, and payment configurations are aligned with the regulations in these countries. The US channel should be set to only allow shipping within the United States. The International B2B channel, however, will need to support a broad range of countries, so configure it to handle multiple shipping destinations and tax requirements accordingly.

5. **Payment Methods**

   - **Payment Configuration**: Configure payment methods for each channel based on regional preferences and legal requirements. In the Germany & Switzerland channel, you might include popular methods like [PayPal](https://store.shopware.com/en/swag588949310744/paypal-for-shopware-6.html?_gl=1%2A1cm0z34%2A_gcl_au%2ANTIwOTE3ODM4LjE3MzMxNDg1MTg.%2AFPAU%2AMTQ1NzgzOTMyMC4xNzMzMTQzMDAw%2A_ga%2AMTM0MDkxMzEwOS4xNzMzMTQzMDAx%2A_ga_9JLJ6GGB76%2AMTczNDM0MTYyOC4xMC4xLjE3MzQzNDcwNjAuMC4wLjExMDU1Mjg5OTU.%2A_fplc%2AYWx5YiUyQkpIRUNoJTJCYmhuZ1NwUlc3dEwlMkJZYXZtM0c4b0pOZWVCYXg4N3hsSXVVeGhGa21qWTBJMFl1MjdwJTJGYVA1aUdxVyUyQkdPaEpJRkVheUxZekFiWmolMkZ5VGR0OUJMeVlSb0NtcGtzdHJ3enFGZGYxOGNFU3RxeGtxJTJCRVFHNUElM0QlM0Q.), SEPA, and credit cards. In the US, credit cards and PayPal are essential. For the International B2B channel, you might offer wire transfers and international payment gateways like [Adyen](https://store.shopware.com/en/adyen70424242359f/adyen-payments-for-shopware-6.html?srsltid=AfmBOoqpm8cV1SNuivCi4Rwaz7xAvw0cXAvi_J1oimgj3bEVva_aN7Dh) or [Stripe](https://store.shopware.com/en/strip58358613686f/stripe-payments-for-shopware-6-plugin.html), which support a variety of currencies and payment methods.

6. **Shipping Methods**

   - **Shipping Setup**: Shipping needs vary greatly between channels. For the Germany & Switzerland channel, integrate with [DHL](https://store.shopware.com/en/viiso52049132916f/dhl-shipping.html), a popular carrier in these regions, and configure the shipping rates and zones accordingly. The US channel might use FedEx or UPS as primary carriers. For the International B2B channel, consider using an intermediate platform like ShipStation to manage global shipments, offering multiple carrier options depending on the destination. Ensure that tracking information is seamlessly integrated and available to customers across all channels.
More about shipping in Shopware here [Shipping](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/settings/shipping).

7. **Email Templates**

   - **Email Customization**: Global Gear’s different channels require tailored email templates to match the branding and language of each market. For instance, the Germany & Switzerland channel’s order confirmations and shipping notifications should be in German, while the US channel’s emails should be in English. For the International B2B channel, you might want to create templates in both German and English, depending on the customer’s language preference.
This article [Email templates](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/settings/email-templates) describes how to set up email templates in Shopware.

8. **Documents**

   - **Document Configuration**: Set up invoices, delivery notes, and credit note templates for each sales channel. The Germany & Switzerland channel will require documents compliant with both German and Swiss regulations, possibly including different tax rates. The US channel’s documents need to comply with US standards. The International B2B channel will require flexible document templates that can adapt to different legal and regulatory environments, depending on the client’s location.
This article [Documents](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/settings/documents) describes how to configure documents.

9. **API Settings**

   - **ERP Integration via API**: Global Gear’s ERP system integration is critical for syncing inventory, orders, and customer data across all sales channels. Configure the API settings to securely connect Shopware with the ERP, ensuring that all transactions, product updates, and customer information are accurately reflected in both systems. This integration allows for real-time data exchange, improving efficiency and reducing the risk of errors.
More about API integrations in this article [Integrations](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/settings/system/integrationen).

10. **User Management**
    - **Business Unit Access Control**: With different business units responsible for various aspects of the shop, use the User Management settings to create roles and assign permissions. The marketing team might have access to email templates and product information, while the logistics team manages shipping settings and the IT department handles API integrations. This separation of duties ensures that each team can perform its tasks without stepping on each other’s toes. User management options are described in the article
      [Users & Permissions](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/settings/system/user).

## Conclusion

By navigating and configuring these settings in the context of Global Gear, you can see how the Shopware Admin interface allows for precise control over every aspect of the shop’s operation. Whether it’s managing multiple currencies, languages, and countries, or integrating with external systems like an ERP, the right configurations ensure that Global Gear’s eCommerce operations are smooth, efficient, and tailored to their diverse customer base.
