# Google Gemini Optimization

We’ve emphasized it before, but it can’t be overstated: keep your Merchant Center feed healthy. If your Shopware store’s products aren’t in Google’s index or have feed errors, they will not appear in the new AI shopping interface. Google’s AI Mode will draw from the Shopping Graph, which your feed populates. Check Merchant Center diagnostics regularly for issues (disapprovals, mismatched prices, etc.) and fix them.

While Google's earlier "Buy on Google" program (where Google hosted checkout) ended, the new agentic checkout suggests using Google Pay. Ensure your site supports Google Pay or at least fast checkout options.

- Google’s AI can track price drops and act on them. If you’re in a very competitive market, consider using Merchant Center’s price competitiveness report
- Google's trying virtual try-on and other visual features. Provide **high-resolution images** with consistent backgrounds (which you likely already do for SEO)
- If you have brick-and-mortar, link your **local inventory** feed. Google's AI might prioritize or mention products available for pickup "today" if relevant to the user’s query
- Google’s AI will avoid showing content that violates its guidelines. **Ensure your site is compliant** (no misleading claims, transparent policies). If you sell in categories like health or finance, extra care is needed to meet Google's content quality standards

<Callout>
In short, optimizing for Google's AI combines traditional SEO best practices (quality content, structured data, mobile-first site) with specific commerce data optimization (feed, pricing, inventory). Google's ecosystem is broad, so success in AEO with Google comes from being thorough on all fronts that Google touches: organic search, shopping feed, and user experience.
