# Companies, Employees, and Roles

This course turns a B2B-enabled customer account into a structured company account.

After B2B functions are active, the customer account needs a clear internal structure. Employees need their own logins, roles define what those employees may do, and Organisation Units separate larger companies into departments, locations, teams, or cost centres.

In B2B, the buyer is rarely one person. Some employees only browse or prepare orders, others approve orders, and a few manage the company account itself. Larger companies may also need separate working contexts so that departments or locations do not share the same orders, addresses, budgets, or settings.

You will learn how employee accounts work inside one company account, how roles group permissions, and how Organisation Units create separate working contexts for larger customer structures. You will also see where these tasks can happen: in the storefront by authorized customer-side users and from the customer's Company tab in the administration where supported.

Together, these concepts provide the foundation for the ordering workflows you will configure in the next course.
